looking for online fax service compatible with 64bit Vista

I have been a long time paying efax customer with a local efax number. I bought a new computer in december with vista 64bit OS. Efax offers features that I really like in it's .efx format; the ability to edit incoming faxes, then save as PDF. The .efx files will not work with V64bit. Efax does not know when they will support this OS. I may need to find a new fax service (I mainly have incoming faxes)and would like to know if :
1) Can "keep" my existing efax number?
2) What similar service providers have the editable features, including signatures etc. and pdf function? (what I love about e-fax)

Samri:

The reason you are having a problem is that you are using special software from a particular vendor (e-fax) to do stuff for you, and as you now know, the moment your platform/OS/environment changes, if they do not change their software, you are stuck.

To make matters worse, J2 (the parent company of efax and many of the other fax "names" in the market place) does not let you keep you fax number if you want to move to another service.

They got you right where they want you.

You should be on a service that does not require any special software.

What you really want is a business grade fax service that treats you like a valued customer and not a hostage... and yes.... there are some companies like that.

If you are interested in learning about the better business grade services that retain you because of a superior product and not because they won't release your fax number, let us know... we help customers in your situation all the time.

Take Care,

Gary

I've used Venali with good success

and many of these firms are recognizing the need to present packages for low volume users.
