How to send a test page
Follow these four steps to test fax, Scan to Email or Internet Fax from your machine.
1. Prepare a test page
Use a page with some text and an image, without personal information. Use black and white for a phone fax; email tests can use colour.
2. Send from your machine
Send a fax to a test number, or use Scan to Email or Internet Fax (I-Fax) to send to a test email address. For email, send one TIFF, PDF or JPEG file.
3. Find your result
Your test page appears above in a minute or two. Pages sent by email are marked "Received by email".
4. Check the quality
Check the page orientation, clarity and page count. For a phone fax, also check the sender ID printed on the page.

What is Faxbeep?
Faxbeep is a free service for testing fax machines, printers and copiers. Send a fax to one of our test numbers in the US, UK or Australia, or test Scan to Email or Internet Fax (I-Fax) using a test email address. View the received page online in a minute or two. No sign-up needed.
Is my faxed document secure?
Your faxed document becomes publicly visible on the website for 30 days before automatic removal. If you need your fax removed sooner, click "Request removal" on its detail page. We recommend not sending sensitive or confidential information through this test service.
Help! My fax is showing information that I don't want to be public
If you've sent a fax that contains private or sensitive information, you can request its immediate removal. At the bottom of every fax detail page, you'll find a "Request removal" link. Click it and your fax will be promptly removed from the service.
What happens to my fax number – is it visible to others?
The service masks sender numbers for privacy, though your sender ID may be visible in the fax itself. Consider this when sending test faxes if you have privacy concerns.
For a test by email, we show only a masked form of your email address. We never show the subject or the message text of your email.
How much does it cost to use the service?
Nothing. The fax testing service itself is free. However, standard fax transmission charges from your provider/carrier will apply when sending to our numbers.
What if my test fax doesn't appear on the website?
If your fax doesn't appear after a few minutes:
- Refresh the webpage
- Check your fax machine settings
- Verify you dialed the correct test number
- Try sending again
For a test by email, check the address first, then see what the result tells you.
Can I use this service from any country?
Yes, you can send faxes to our test numbers from anywhere in the world. We provide local numbers for US, UK, and Australia to potentially reduce your transmission costs.
How long does it take for my fax to appear online?
Test faxes typically appear within 1-2 minutes after transmission. You shouldn't need to refresh this page to see new faxes, as the page updates live when new faxes arrive.
What types of faxes can I send to Faxbeep?
By phone, the service accepts both single-page and multi-page black & white faxes. Color faxes are not supported.
By email, you can send one TIFF, PDF or JPEG file of up to 20 pages and about 5 MB, in color or in black & white. A PDF with a password is not accepted.
Is there a limit to how many test faxes I can send?
No, you're welcome to use the service as much as you like for testing or for fun. Just be nice. Tests by email have a limit of 60 each hour from one email address.
Can I test scan to email on my printer?
Yes. Our fax numbers are also email addresses. Send a scan to one of our fax numbers, digits only, followed by @faxbeep.com, and see it here in a minute or two. See the scan to email test.
Can I test internet fax (I-Fax) from my copier?
Yes. Select the Internet Fax or I-Fax mode on your copier and send a page to one of our fax numbers, digits only, followed by @faxbeep.com. You do not need a phone line. See the internet fax test.
What if I need to test receiving faxes?
Faxbeep is the receive side of a test, so to check that your machine receives faxes you need someone to send one to your number. The easiest way is our sister service payperfax.com, run by the same team, which lets you send a single fax on a pay-per-use basis with no subscription.
