Which test do you need?
"Internet fax" can mean two different things. Pick the one that matches your setup.

How to test internet fax
Follow these four steps to check that your copier can send a fax by email.
1. Copy a test address
Use one of our fax numbers, digits only, followed by @faxbeep.com.
2. Send from your copier
Select the Internet Fax or I-Fax mode, enter the address and send one page.
3. See the result
Your page appears on our home page in a minute or two, marked "Received by email".
4. Check the quality
Look at the orientation, the clarity and the page count.
What internet fax is
In Internet Fax mode, your copier scans the page and sends it as an email with the page attached, usually as a TIFF file. It uses your network and your outgoing mail server. It does not use a phone line.
The name of the mode depends on the maker of the copier. Look for "Internet Fax", "I-Fax" or "iFax" on the control panel or in the fax settings.
This mode uses the same mail settings as scan to email. If scan to email works on your copier, internet fax usually works too.

If your page does not appear
This test checks that your copier can send email, and how the page looks when it arrives. It does not test a phone line.
- Your copier shows or prints a short message from us. Your email reached us, but we could not accept the file. See the list of messages and what to do for each one.
- Your copier shows a send error of its own. The email did not leave your copier. Check the outgoing mail server (SMTP) settings: server name, port, login and encryption.
- Nothing appears, and you get no error. Check the address first. We do not answer email to a number that is not one of ours. Then wait a few minutes and send again.
FAQ: Internet Fax Test
Is the internet fax test free?
Yes. The test is free and you do not need to sign up.
Do I need a phone line for this test?
No. Internet fax uses your network and your mail server. To test a fax over a phone line, send a fax to one of our fax test numbers.
I use an online fax service. Which test do I use?
Send a fax to one of our fax test numbers from your service, in the usual way. Your service sends a normal fax over the phone network, so the test addresses on this page are not for you.
Can other people see my page?
Yes. Your page becomes publicly visible for 30 days. If you need it removed sooner, click "Request removal" on its detail page. Do not send real documents.
Can other people see my email address?
No. We show only a masked form of your address, for example s***@c***.gov. We never show the subject or the message text of your email.
Will I get a reply or a delivery report?
We do not send a reply email. Look for your page on our home page. If we cannot accept your page, your copier or your mail server shows a short message with the reason.
Can I test scan to email here too?
